Day 1: Buenos Aires arrival
Arrive in Buenos Aires, and transfer to hotel. Afternoon at your own leisure to begin exploring. Overnight at Esplendor Plaza Francia or similar style.
Day 2: City Tour of Buenos Aires
In the morning, have a private city tour around Buenos Aires. Explore the French architecture and atmosphere of Recoleta, the colourful ‘caminito’ in La Boca, the bohemian San Telmo, the cobbled streets of Palermo and the up and coming Puerto Madero. In the evening have the ‘Argentine Dinner Experience’, where you will have mate make empanadas, and try amazing steaks (transfer to the restaurant is not included). Overnight at Esplendor Plaza Francia or similar style.
Day 3: Iguazu Falls
Breakfast at your accommodation and take your flight to Iguazu. Arrival and visit the Brazilian side of the falls for spectacular views, exploring the trail that leads up to the platform above the river. You can stand right in the middle of the falls, on platforms that lead you right into the entrance to the ‘Garganta del Diablo’. When the trip is over, you will be transported back to your hotel for relaxation and recuperation. Overnight at Pueblito Hotel or similar style.
Day 4: Iguazu Falls
Visit the Argentinean side of the falls on an adventure tour, and take a wet boat ride into the falls. Your visit will take you to three different tiers of the park, each with their own unique views. There is also the opportunity to get the ultimate Iguazu falls experience with a boat ride through the falls, both thrilling and soaking. Dry off and relax back at your hotel after being transported back. Overnight at Pueblito Hotel or similar style.
Day 5: Salta City Tour
Transfer back to the airport, to fly to Salta. Transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, city tour around the beautifully colonial city. Witness the the historical past that is still alive in the large old houses, courtyards, and squares. Visit the Cathedral and the San Francisco church, before returning to the hotel. Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in the evening (not included). Overnight at Antiguo Convento Hotel or similar style.
Day 6: Cafayate
Transfer to Cafayate, the village dubbed ‘the Tuscany of Argentina’. Have a full day tour, exploring the stunning landscapes, touring Cafayate’s famous wineries and its regional white, Torrontes. Have a late lunch in Cafayate (not included), before going back to the hotel to relax. Overnight at Asturias Hotel or similar style.
Day 7: Salta
After your time in Cafayate, it is time to go back to Salta. Overnight at Antiguo Convento Hotel or similar style
Day 8: Los Cobres - Salinas Grandes - Purmamarca - Siete Colores
Have an early breakfast before heading to Tastil from where you will discover San Antonio de los Cobres. You’ll make a break to lunch (not included) before crossing Route 40 until you reach “Salinas Grandes” (Salt Flats), right in the border between Salta and Jujuy. Then you will go down by Cuesta del Lipán – if the sky is clear you’ll have the chance to see Condors flying! You’ll arrive to the small town of Purmamarca and its Seven Colour hill (Cerro de los Siete Colores), where you are going to spend the night. Overnight at El Refugio de Coquena or similar style.
Day 9: Quebrada de Humahuaca - Salta
Pick up from your hotel to discover the town of Tilcara where we’ll visit the Pucará (ancient ruins), the Archaeological Museum, and Huacalera. Then we cross the Capricorn Tropic, from where the colors of La Pollera de la Coya Hill can be seen and really good pictures can be taken because of the daylight. We’ll visit Uquía and its church, where the paintings of the Arcabuceros Angels (important vestige in the zone of the Cuzqueña School) are kept. Arrival to Humahuaca by noon; this town has an important Church and the Independence Monument (the Indian). After lunch (not included) we’ll observe, from the route, La Paleta del Pintor (Painter’s Palette) framing the town of Maimara. Continue to San Salvador de Jujuy where the Flag Hall and the Cathedral, characterized by its pulpit carved in wood and gold and the statues of Lola Mora are visited. Back on track and return to Salta. Overnight at Antiguo Convento Hotel or similar style.
Day 10: Bariloche
Transfer to the airport, from where you will fly to Bariloche. Transfer to your hotel, and have the afternoon free to enjoy this beautiful gem of the Argentinean Patagonia. Overnight at Costas del Nahuel Hotel or similar style.
Day 11: Bariloche History & Nature Tour
You’ll be picked up from your hotel to take your History and Nature tour (private service). This excursion goes along the most classic circuit of San Carlos de Bariloche in an active way. The guide will explain how this little mountain village have changed into one of the most attractive cities in Patagonia and the National Capital of Adventure Tourism. While visiting the most important viewpoints of the area like Campanario Hill (hill lift-chair ticket not included) and Llao-Llao Peninsula you will enjoy amazing views of Lakes Moreno and Nahuel Huapi and the mountains Capilla and Lopez. You will also do a nature oriented walk through an impressive native forest on the Llao-Llao Nature Park. At the end, you’ll visit a local Microbrewery and have lunch with a beer tasting. Overnight at Costas del Nahuel Hotel or similar style
Day 12: Mascardi Lake Hike & Kayak
Combine a kayaking trip and trek through the forest, this tour is moderately physically demanding, so make sure you have a decent breakfast! This is a very complete excursion that combines coastal kayaking and hiking in the Nahuel Huapi National Park.Starts in the morning following the National Road 40 in south direction until entering to the National Park and reach the beach in the Mascardi Lake where the kayak activity will take place. After lunch, a nature oriented hike will let you enjoy this amazing environment of evergreen forest and blue lakes. Afterwards, return to your accommodation in the afternoon. Overnight at Costas del Nahuel Hotel or similar style.
Day 13: El Calafate
Transfer to the airport, from where you will fly to El Calafate. Transfer to your hotel, with the afternoon at your own leisure. We would recommend you unearth this picturesque village, which has many quaint restaurants and bars on offer. Overnight at Hostería Hainen or similar style.
Day 14: Perito Moreno Glacier Trek
Today witness the Perito Moreno glacier, the most famous glacier in the world for its continuous movement and sheer size. You will be taken from your hotel to the port, from where it is a short 15 minute sail to the opposite shore and the base of the glacier. You will hike along the Rico Arm to reach the glacier with your guide. At the end of the walk enjoy a glass of whiskey paired with ice from the glacier itself. You will then be transported back to your hotel for an evening of relaxation. Overnight at Hostería Hainen or similar style.
Day 15: Nibepo Horse Riding
Depart from El Calafate following “the road to the estancias”. Along the way it is common to come across condors, foxes and hares. Arrive to the estate ranch and enjoy a magnificent view of the Andes mountain range and start your walking around the ranch. When you get into the stables, you will take a horse-ride (1 hs) to explore the surroundings. Learn about the work of the shearing teams and attend a demonstration of horse handling skills (according to the rural activities of the day – subject to weather conditions). Then, taste whole lamb is being roasted on a vertical stake in traditional Patagonian fashion. By end of the visit, return to El Calafate. Overnight at Hostería Hainen or similar style.
Day 16: Buenos Aires Farewell Tango Dinner
Transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Buenos Aires. Upon your arrival, transfer to your accommodation to take some rest. In the evening, visit La Ventana Tango for a passionate tango show, with a fantastic Argentine dinner while you watch. Overnight at Esplendor Plaza Francia or similar style.
Day 17: Buenos Aires Departure
Transfer to the airport, from where you will fly to Buenos Aires, and then home.
