Day 1: Kutaisi Arrival
Arrival in Kutaisi, meet at the airport and transfer to a family hotel for rest.
Day 2: Dadiani Palace - Becho
Late morning start, we drive to Zugdidi to visit Dadiani Palace (closed on Mondays), then drive to Svaneti and en route stop a Enguri hydro power plant. Today’s drive is magnificent since we drive along the road which is surrounded by coniferous forest, gushing mountain rivers, snow-capped mountain ranges and of course small Svanetian villages. We can have some stops a long the way to take pictures, walk a bit along the road or just enjoy a simple coffee at road side local cafes (optional expense). Dinner and overnight at a family hotel in Becho (B/D)
Day 3: Mazeri - Ushba Glacier - Mestia
Local mini bus to Mazeri. We will enjoy our walk towards Ushba Glacier today. We’ll reach the beautiful waterfalls, enjoy the stunning views and return to Becho to get transferred to Mestia. Dinner and overnight at a family hotel in Mestia. (B/LP/D) ↑↓450m; 4-5hrs (first waterfall); ↑↓1050m; 6-7hrs (third waterfall)
Day 4: Chalaadi Glacier - Mt. Zuruldi - Mestia
Today we take a 4WD for a short ride towards Chalaadi Glacier. We get off and start our walk to enjoy beautiful views of the glacier before returning back to our vehicles. We continue to Mt. Zuruldi where we take a round trip cable car ride and enjoy the magnificent views of the surrounding mountains. Return to Mestia by 4WD. Dinner and overnight at a family hotel in Mestia (B/D). ↑↓500m; 4-5hrs
Day 5: Ushguli
Today we drive to the UNESCO World Heritage site – the highest permanently inhabited village in Europe, Ushguli (2200m). Located in the lee of the highest peak of Georgia Mt. Shkhara (5067m) Ushguli captivates you and makes in love with it with the first site. Here we take a walk to Tamar’s Tower and enjoy the evening at a local family hotel. Dinner and overnight at family hotel in Ushguli. (B/D). ↓175m↑440m; 4hrs (excluding optional walk)
Day 6: Ushguli - Mt. Shkhara - Mestia
This morning we’ll take a walk to the highest mountain of Georgia – Shkhara (5067m) in the river bed of Enguri river. Return back to Ushguli and by 4WD drive to Mestia. Dinner and overnight at a family hotel in Mestia. (B/LP/D) ↑↓320m; 5-6hrs
Day 7: Mestia - Gelati - Kutaisi
This morning we drive to Kutaisi and explore the small old town, Kutaisi agricultural market and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gelati Monastery and Academy. Dinner and overnight at a family hotel in Kutaisi.
Day 8: Tskaltubo - Kutaisi Departure
Our first visit today brings us to recently renovated Bagrati Cathedral. Afterwards we drive to Tskaltubo to visit the beautiful underground Grotto of stalactites and stalagmites (closed on Mondays). In the afternoon transfer to the airport and departure.(B)
